The company describes this proposal as a "HTTP design style" URL for immediate access to chained Web3 details, such as in front of decentralized applications (Dapp) and NFT. More than a year later, ERC-4804 was approved online on March 1.

Anthine Xiang, a spokesman for the second-tier ETHStorage, explains that in most cases, ecosystems still rely on centralized web servers to access "fragmented" applications.

"Today, all Dapp like Uniswap [...] Claiming to be a decentralized application, Xiang explained, adding: "but how do we get to the web page?" You need to use the domain name service. You need to Google your father. [.] All of these are centralized network servers.

Today, most users use the "dynamic web page communication protocol" to access Internet technology, which is actually the well-known dynamic web page communication protocol.

When a network user clicks a link or types the detailed address of a website, the computer's use of HTTP requires another computer to retrieve information content, such as a website or photo.

Depending on ERC-4804, web users can also type "web3://" (instead of "http://") in their browsers to immediately change it to Dapp such as Uniswap or On-Chain NFT. This is mainly because the standard user can view the Ethernet VM virtual machine (EVM) operation.

In essence, all sites can be accessed in this way as long as the content is saved on the etheric block chain technology or an adaptive layer 2 agreement. However, Zhao Jiwei, founder of ETHStorage, said that the cost of doing so is still high.

"the key issue here is that the storage cost of Ethernet is very expensive on medium-sized computers," Zhou said in a recent ETHDenver speech. "

For example, 1G's chained data will cost about $10 million. [.] This is unacceptable for many Web2 applications and for many NFT. Zhou added that he stressed that the second-tier storage server can help reduce some costs.

It is suggested that, with full consideration of cost, a new URL standard makes more sense only for specific applications.

"not everything has to be decentralized. If you run a good Web2 business process, you don't have to worry too much about centralized censorship. [.] That's how you can do it.

On the other hand, the new standard will be effective for Dapp or websites that encounter verification risks, with Tornado Cash as an example.

"for example, for sandstorm cash, many people cannot access it through his website because of the censorship mechanism," Xiang explained.

"if you are DAPP and you are already decentralized, why do you keep using a centralized website to get people to visit you?"

When asked whether the new standard would be used by lawbreakers to participate in illegal activities, Xiang said:

It's really hard to say, just like how BTC was created. I don't think BTC was born to be naughty, but in the beginning, people have been doing unusual things like the ancient Silk Road, and they have been using BTC.

On the other hand, Xiang feels that, like BTC, they only give everyone a piecemeal choice, otherwise they should not have.

Item emphasizes that a new Ethernet standard is the first of its kind in blockchain technology, although it is not the first for decentralized web hosting solutions.

He explained that ERC-4804 will allow "visualization of data", such as allowing people to follow, like and leave messages, and interact with the content on the site.
